So fun—make a custom Sigg bottle here.
You can preview various images once you upload your custom image (or choose from one of their templates). Below is an example I made using a logo I made for myself for a class.

Type wars
Ikea switches its typeface to Verdana, spurring conflict among design snobs.

Orba Squara
Wow wow wow. You must check out the band Orba Squara's website. It chronicles their tour journey and uses tons of great typography, illustrations, and photography. I could spend hours on this thing. Here are just a few screen shots to whet your appetite, but they don't do it much justice, so check it out for yourself.

Sticky subjects
How cool is this vintage masking tape?
It comes in a few patterns: old book, collage, days, and numbers. Amazing.

Vintage Maps
Ancient maps are quite pretty...and amusing, as in the case of the map of the "island of California" below.

Analyze This
Another interesting article from today's NY Times about new technologies that analyze emotional, sentimental, and opinion-based data gleaned from social networks and blogs.

Vertical Farming
Interesting article in the NY Times about "vertical farming," a new farming concept in which farms can be grown in tall buildings in cities, using less water, reducing CO2, and escaping environmental constraints, among other benefits.

All together now.
A lovely—and atypical—Budweiser commercial.
The ad was shot from the El train in Chicago, and people across the city spelled out the lyrics to the Beatles cover as the train passed.
You can learn more about the creation of the ad here and here.

Chrissie Abbott
Chrissie Abbott is a British illustrator with some great, colorful, and somewhat psychedelic work. She interestingly mixes photography, drawing, and (often hand-done) typography to make some unique-looking images. Check out her website for more.

The Heads of State
I absolutely love nearly all the work in The Heads of State's portfolio. I took a look at their website after seeing it featured on a few different websites this week and was pleasantly surprised by what I found.
Their gig posters, illustrations, and general design work are not only aesthetically pleasing and unique-looking, but also well thought out and conceptually sound. It was tough choosing some examples for this post, and the captions explaining the concepts behind the illustrations make the work that much better, so be sure to check out their website.
