Day of letterpressing

Below are some pictures of the recent letterpress workshop I took through the Type Directors Club and the end result: a letterpress version of my business card.

24-hour print

Simply brilliant letterpress print from Dolce Press.

Vintage Sesame Street

Wow, I totally remember this Sesame Street video on letterpress. Maybe my love for letterpress was born at an early age?

No bull

How great is this letterpressed coffee packaging designed by Jeff Holmberg and printed by none other than Studio on Fire for Bull Run Roasting Company? Each label is rubber stamped and hole punched according to the variety. I heart Midwestern design.

Yeehaw

I hadn't been to Yeehaw's Etsy shop in a while, but they have some cool prints for sale.

Home letterpress machine

My favorite paper store, Paper Source, is now selling a "home letterpress machine." I wonder if this works? Obvious issues are size restrictions, whether or not you can use your own polymer plates, and if the result is professional looking...but could be interesting to give it a try.

Mikey Burton

I quite like Mikey Burton's portfolio—the whole darn thing.

Lot 9 Press

Some nice things are to be found in Lot 9 Press's Etsy shop.

None of Your Business Cards

These "None of Your Business Cards" from Mauseth Design made me laugh. The cards, printed by Studio on Fire, feature fake (and humorous) names for when you're not so into the person talking to you.

Birds of Sadness

A nice letterpress print from Studio on Fire, with a great quote:

“You cannot prevent the birds of sadness from passing over your head, but you can prevent their making a nest in your hair.” - Chinese proverb
