Cosmo cover by Leo Burnett

Cosmopolitan's cover for its February issue about honor killings and violence against women is chilling, captivating, and gets the point across immediately. Read more about the cover and issue here.

Old-school

Old magazine covers are just so lovely. A picture's worth a thousand words, yes?

(P.S. I've been incredibly busy lately, but I can't believe I haven't written for a whole month! What?! Well, here I am again.)

InDesign Magazine

Check out the August/September issue of InDesign Magazine to see some of my work/quotes featured. Sadly, an entire page of my work (3 spreads of my Brooklyn Flea book) was credited as someone else's, but I let them know and hopefully they will correct it...

*Update: the editor has corrected it—thanks! Will update the spreads shortly.

Work it

Newwork Magazine is full of beautiful spreads. While I haven't been lucky enough to see a hard copy of it, I had fun browsing the website. There are lots of great photographs and typographical layouts.

Confessions of a Photoshopoholic

Sex, Lies and Photoshop on the NY Times website looks at the extent to which the pictures in the media have been Photoshopped and discusses whether or not publications should be forced to inform readers about this retouching.

Though we've all heard this story before, I'm continually shocked by the before and after images. Give it a look!

Strike a pose

Check out the vintage Vogue magazine cover archive here for some cool images. I also like the classic Vanity Fair archive.
