Luis B Boy
I like Spanish designer Luis B Boy's work, especially the typographic work below for DOSDECADATRES. (Click to enlarge for a better view)
Macao Trading Co.
Macao Trading Co., located in Tribeca, has been getting lots of buzz lately.
Opened by the people from Employees Only, Macao offers unique cocktails, good food, and a cool atmosphere.

Lions & tigers & bears - oh my.
Another song goody. This one with a kinda creepy video.

Chasing the clouds away
This article makes me so very sad.
I am a Sesame Street fan through and through (see article for reasons). But apparently, the economy and competition from other shows are leading to its sinking ratings.

Book report
Saw this book at my favorite, Anthropologie. It's pretty awesome. Being added to the wishlist.
Meanwhile, I bought this book:
It is clever, creative, and full of good advice for anyone in business (not just creatives).

Hipster migration
Here's an interesting article about the effect of the recession on "youth magnet" cities like Portland and Austin. Makes you think twice about where you want to live...

The Scent Opera
Christophe Laudamiel plans on opening a "scent opera," entitled the Green Aria, at the Guggenheim Museum starting May 31. The performance will pair scents with music and will last half an hour. Check out this article from the WSJ for all the details.

Chop chop
Germophobes rejoice: curved chopsticks (so they don't touch the table). Brilliant.

I saw the sign
I've been taking lots of photos of vintage signs lately—a combination of my love for my new Diana camera, vintage things, and typography—so it's no surprise that I love this series from The Soul Creative entitled Signs & Wonders: A Photographic Project.

Flip & Tumble
Flip and Tumble makes cool eco-friendly reusable shopping bags that collapse to a small ball (and can therefore be easily stored in your purse). Much like the popular Baggu bags, they are made of sturdy ripstop nylon and come in a variety of colors, but they have some added design details that make me like them that much more.
The creators, Hetal Jariwala and Eva Bauer, met at Stanford's Product Design grad program. They came up with the idea for the bags after realizing that many people buy reusable bags for the market, yet often forget them at home. Since the bags are so compact, they can be kept in a purse for shopping on the fly—hopefully solving this problem.
Check 'em out right here.

Wonderland
This song is 90% composed of sounds from Disney's Alice in Wonderland. Kind of an amusing version of electronica.
You can also check out this version of the video, if it doesn't make you too dizzy.

Selflesh
I've been into vintage anatomy images as of late (see here and here), so I'm liking this collage art by Shannon Rankin. Visit her Etsy shop here.

A different kind of "downsizing."
A smart way to survive the recession: downsize on business cards to save on printing costs. Ogilvy designed these cards, along with the website ogilvyonrecession.com, to help cut costs creatively and cleverly.
